IS&T (BSMIS & BSCS)

Position 1
Performs programming tasks under the general supervision of a more senior team member. Develops application subsystems in a variety of operating systems and programming languages as defined by IS&T policies and procedures. Help in the maintenance of myriad applications using HTML, ASP, JAVA and properietary languages used in our ERP system.

Position 2
To assist the Business Systems Development teams (primarily PeopleSoft) with the development and support of custom reporting solutions and application customizations across all key business areas (Sales, Finance, Manufacturing). To assist with generating graphs and reports used in monitoring and measuring application availability and failure analysis. Performs entry-level programming tasks under the general supervision of a more senior team member. Develops reports and application subsystems in a variety of operating systems and programming languages as defined by IS&T policies and procedures. Acquires a thorough understanding of the Finance, Manufacturing, and Custom Business Applications developed and supported within the Applications Development Group. Works closely in a team environment with personnel throughout the IS&T organization as well as other departments such as Web Systems and Manufacturing Systems.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (BSEE)

The co-op students will support the Electrical Engineering Department in testing/data collection as well as lower level module quality support. Will also be doing VI•Chip design qualification testing, BGA MOSFET characterization and qualification testing. Must have analog knowledge as well as an interest in power electronics.

MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS / COMPUTER INTEGRATED MANUFACTURING (BSCS, MSCS)

Work with software engineers from our Mfg Systems/Computer Integrated Mfg group, on manufacturing application projects, and may research new software technology or tools. Performs tasks under the general supervision of a more senior team member. Our environment includes: Oracle, LINUX, JSP/Struts/Hibernate, a shared respository, and open source libraries and tools. An excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in a high tech environment.

MANUFACTURING (BS/BA Business Management/Masters in Operations/Business Management/MBA)
(4-6 available positions, Part Time and Full Time)

Will work with Manufacturing and Production manager/supervisors in the areas of Manufacturing efficiency, yield, cost, quality, capacity analysis, factory optimization and group dynamics. They will develop and evaluate ideas for cycle time reduction, work-in-progress (wip) reduction, Kaizen implementation and other world class manufacturing projects. They will also work closely with other departments, particularly Mfg. Engineering, Production Planning and Quality Assurance. This will be an excellent hands on opportunity that will expose the co-op to Manufacturing and Operations Management in a high technology manufacturing environment. Will also be responsible for generation ideas, collecting data, correlating the data, evaluating and graphing the results and measuring the effects.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING (BSEE,BSME, & BSMFG)

Work with engineers in the area of product testing, component and/or material evaluation, process improvement and failure analysis. Assist in mechanical and/or electrical design which will expose co-op students to manufacturing engineering responsibilities in the production environment. Will be responsible for data collection, correlating this data, evaluating and graphing the results.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING - VIC (BSEE,BSME, & MFG Engineering)

Work with Engineers in the area of product testing, component and/or material evaluation, process improvement and failure analysis. Work with engineers to implement proper process control techniques and systems. Assist in mechanical and/or electrical design which will expose co-op students to Manufacturing engineering responsibilities in the production environment. Will be responsible for data collection, correlating this data, evaluating and graphing the results.

PROCESS ENGINEERING (BSME, BSCE, BSEE, MATERIALS SCIENCE)

Support the Process Engineering Department with a broad range of technical functions associated with the development, improvement and deployment of materials and processes used in high volume state-of-the-art electronics assembly. This will include detailed activities in new product packaging development, materials and process testing, process troubleshooting qualification and failure analysis. A co-op student is therefore exposed to general engineering concepts including Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering

PROCESS ENGINEERING - TECH WRITER (BSME, BSCE, BSEE, MATERIALS SCIENCE)

Candidates should be in their Sr. year of undergraduate school or in the process of obtaining an advanced degree in the field of Technical Writing and/or one of the Sciences with a focus on technical writing. Course study in the sciences is required. Hands-on Laboratory experience is a plus. Position involves organizing, managing, communicating, and facilitating the use of both technical and non-technical information. Candidate will be required to generate communications through documentation of scientific, technical, information primarily with scientific or technological subjects in the form of Operating Procedures and Technical Directives. Candidate should have a background in a science and scientific journalism or related fields.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (BSME)

The co-op students will support the Mechanical Engineering Department in performing thermal measurements and qualifications to support new product development of power converters. Experience in data acquisition, wind tunnel testing, CAD and mechanical design of test apparatus would be a plus. An interest in thermo-fluids science in desired. Knowledge of Excel, Ohm’s law, and good PC file management techniques, are required. The candidate should have good organizational skills, and should enjoy working in a hands-on test lab environment. The co-op student will gain insight about thermal management design and testing for electronic product designs.
